New Features and Non-Breaking Changes

Added Centralized Logging and Auditing Service

With EDELOG 6.17 we’re introducing a centralized logging and auditing service. The service will be attached to all EDELOG apps in the future to allow administrators deeper insights of their data flow as well as security-relevant events.

AI Analysis for Emails

The (automatic) AI analysis for emails is now available. With it, incoming emails will be (automatically) analyzed to extract a summary, follow-up topcis as well as a potential reply.

Other Features

• Forms

  • Value providers are added to Form section settings: You can now import values from other data sources (like EDELOG databases, users/groups or QR codes)

• Edel Inputs

  • Added support for value providers across a variety of Edel Inputs. With value providers, you can fill out a set of inputs by using external data sources (like data from EDELOG databases)

• Identity and Access Management

  • Organization administrators can now enable/disable authentication methods available to their organizations

  • Organization administrators can now enforce password policies for their organizations

  • New organizations will be created with stronger security policies by default

  • The UI for configuring authentication methods has been updated

  • Within permission dialogs, you can now filter for specific permissions to quickly see all users/group that have access rules configured

• Mail

  • The live data feed has been improved

  • You can now create + link emails directly from the Activity Feed in Data Explorer

  • You can now define default and reply signatures per mail account

  • In the compose dialog, email recipients are not auto-completed from previously received emails

  • You can now send emails with attachments

• Classic Forms

  • Forms attached to an Activity Feed now feature a “Takeover and Open” link to quickly assign the form to the current user and open it in EDELOG Classic

Bug Fixes

• Core Server

  • Internal server errors are reported with HTTP 400 status codes instead of HTTP 500

• Data Layer

  • Users can create database columns with invalid names

  • For large data collections, the generation of the data record short id leads sometimes to database errors

• Edel Inputs

  • edel-input-inline-collection behaves incorrectly for blur events

• Mail

  • Cannot send/forward messages under some circumstances

  • The first response to a message thread is not automatically attached to the linked data records

  • Permissions are not destroyed if a mail account is destroyed

  • Mail app UI is in an invalid state if the Mail service is not available

  • The mailbox list is not correctly updated

  • Emails cannot be synced properly

  • Email list is flickering during mailbox sync

  • AI analysis is not being triggered automatically even if enabled

• Data Table

  • Within Data Explorer, data table displays an empty page after searching/filtering when scrolling down in advance.

• Classic Forms

  • Search results to classic forms cannot be opened

  • Files/Attachments with names in squared brackets cannot be downloaded

• Classic Documents

  • Search results to classic documents cannot be opened
