EDELOG 6.4
Major New Features
Wiki
Edelog 6.4 introduces a new supportive app for your day-to-day business. With Wiki you can easily manage knowledge across your organization and link it with other data in Edelog.
Wiki comes with a standalone app that can be access through the "All Apps" section in Edelog. This app will allow you to manage and structure the knowledge in your organization.
Besides that, Wiki also incorporates a database extension that can be attached to all Edelog databases. When active, the extension will show associated and suggested Wiki pages per data record. This will help you find the relevant information next to service tickets, machine data and other information in Edelog.
Enhanced Notifications
With Edelog 6.4 we're replacing the existing notification system that was kept unchanged from Edelog 5.
The new notification system allows granular control over notifications per app. Furthermore, users can decide to mute and customize specific notifications.
In the new Notification Center users can see and manage all of their notifications. Incoming notifications will appear as banner. We also updated the notification email appearance to be more simplistic.
We're also introducing Notifications for Portal users.
Automations
Edelog 6.4 includes a new automation system that can be used to automate certain aspects of your work. For example you can create a new service ticket once a machine enters a certain state or change the status of a machine if a service ticket has been created.
Automations are incorporated into Data Explorer and will be added to other parts of Edelog with upcoming releases.
Furthermore, Automations can be created using apps enabling new possibilities for complex workflows.
New Features and Non-Breaking Changes
Data Highlighting in Database Views
Data Explorer now supports highlighting data records. While we're planning to roll out more and more use cases for this feature in the future, we will start with a simple use case.
In Edelog 6.4 all data records that include a due date field in a view will be highlighted in red if the due date is overdue.
Pre-Configured Filters
Database Views have been updated to support pre-configured filters. With these filters you can quickly switch between multiple filters.
Filters can be configured by administrators or each user themself.
With this you can for example create multiple filters to filter down all machines managed per subsidiary.
Updated Database Views
With Edelog 6.3 we've introduced the new database table view and asked for your feedback. After receiving many reports, we decided that we can now safely roll-out the changes to all other database views:
Columns, tiles and hierarchy views now feature an updated more refined data card style
Variation tree view and the references data sheet now features the same data table as table view
Other Changes
The data table column resize handle has been restyled to be more wider to be more accessible
The markers in map view can now be color-coded based on a label field
Shortcuts of installed apps can now be configured to be hidden/visible for certain users
When using password authentication users can now be forced to reset their passwords upon the next login.
Database detail views have been renamed to "Data Sheets" to make their distinction towards Data Views more clear.
The data type link users and groups can be configured to restrict the allowed users and groups to be member of one or more groups.
Linked data records are now clickable in the Data Editor data sheets.
"All Databases" has now a search box that allows you to quickly filter down databases to quickly find the requested database.
Data table footer and header rows have been updated to be more distinct over other table rows
Portal Builder can now activate or deactivate the notification feature for Portal users per portal
Portal UI now features a white-labelled loading indicator instead of the default Edelog loading indicator
Portal UI now also features the updated database views

Edelog's current handling of app permits will be changed with the next major version of Edelog and is therefore now deprecated. Currently all app permits are attached to the user's session unless specified otherwise. This will be changed so that – by default – the user won't receive any app permits in advance.
Apps can now have a unique name. While this won't be required during Edelog 6, with Edelog 7 setting a unique app name will be mandatory.
