New Features

Identity & Access Management

  • The new Identity Gateway allows synchronizing users and groups from Microsoft Azure AD. It comes with a settings page to manage identity services, users and groups.

  • Group members can now be provisioned automatically by the Identity Gateway.

User-Generated Content (UGC)

  • User-generated content can now be translated in many places, such as Forms (form type and section titles, building block inputs), data column settings, data record templates and when creating subordinate data records.

  • The translation editor has been improved.

Data Explorer

  • The modern data table is now used by default in Data Explorer Classic.

  • CSV imports now support array-based field types.

  • The new Data Explorer now features settings for columns, data record templates and databases, and allows deleting and archiving data records.

  • Items in the sidebar of the new Data Explorer can now be pinned and unpinned.

Files

  • Files in the file storage can now be accessed directly using view=redirect.

Forms

  • A "Generate" button is now displayed if the PDF generation of a form has failed.

EDELOG Shell

  • Apps can now provide their own settings within the main settings page, and a link to settings has been added to the sidebar.

  • The profile picture and first name of the current user are now displayed in the toolbar.

  • An experimental floating sidebar is now available.

Changes

Data Explorer / Data Layer APIs

  • Sync services now run with concurrency control and improved error handling.

  • Some cleanup jobs are no longer executed in parallel.

  • Search results no longer contain duplicates.

Offline Storage

  • The offline storage now uses PowerSync.

  • Syncing of user data and app data has been improved and now requires fewer requests.

Mail

  • The "Load Mail Body" workflow action now retries up to three times.

Jobs

  • Inputs of the quick action overlay now display descriptions.

Accessibility

  • Buttons, accordions and form controls now provide better ARIA support for screen readers.

Calendar

  • External iCalendar feeds are now handled by the proxy service, which makes subscribing to calendars more reliable.

Bug Fixes

Data Explorer / Data Layer APIs

  • Link and unlink activities are no longer created.

  • Some activities are missing labels.

  • Data record templates are not applied correctly.

  • The data sheet "Record Preview" displays an infinite loading indicator if no object is linked.

  • The data sheet "Referenced Records" is missing toolbar elements.

  • Queries sometimes behave incorrectly because of the order of internal statements.

  • The local cache of data types sometimes is only saved partially.

  • The Time Scheduler does not display checkboxes.

  • The title of a data sync service cannot be changed.

Forms

  • The repeater overlay does not open.

  • The socket connection of Forms does not work.

  • The markdown editor emits an invalid value or throws an error.

  • The task-count validation does not work correctly for file columns.

Identity & Access Management

  • Users and groups appear in the wrong lists while a sync is running.

  • A crashing Azure sync leaves the identity service in an incorrect status.

EDELOG Shell

  • Initializing new app data keys fails silently.

  • Non-JSON values are not saved correctly to the local database.

  • The shared sidebar views cannot be updated.

  • Icons of app links are misaligned.

  • Hotkeys are not triggered correctly on some keyboard layouts.

Jobs

  • Other values get lost when removing input values.

  • EDELOG Core now provides OpenAPI (Swagger) documentation for sessions, user data and OAuth.

  • A new edelog gem can be used by microservices to communicate with EDELOG Core.
